So on to the holidays... well, Cafe Nostalgica goes on holiday on the 22nd of Dec. and doesn't reopen until the new year. So. I've decided to leave December and look straight through to January. However, we all get an extra long time to procrastinate, since I've already devised a theme for the January show. Lots of time to ruminate. Anyway. Here's the theme:
Character Building
And well. You see. I envision this 10 story, brick, apartment building on a street called Butternut Lane. 233 Butternut Lane. Anyway. There are 14 apartments of all sizes on each of the floors. Everyone picks an apartment number. I'll figure out what floor you're on at the show, hopefully that'll deal with the gravitational pull some numbers have over others. So. You pick the apartment, then you build a character (or characters) to live there. Like painting, you can paint your character any style you want, whether it's realist, impressionist, cubist, post-modernist, if it is an ist at all. All the same guidelines apply (see left hand column for details).
January's show will occur at 9pm on Monday the 29th @ Cafe Nostalgica - 603 Cumberland. Also, Poetic Intention's first collaboration with the jeff & uhalve publishing house will be presented on the day of the show. Sold for as cheap as possible, anyone will be able to pick up a small book of submitted poem's from November's .routes.
Lastly. I must apologize for having no translation for this site, nor my posters ect. I'm quite monolingual and have yet to establish a translator, for French or any other language. If anyone is interested in doing some translating, I'd gladly accept their help.
